Calysta MWF
2007 MS Hanoverian Mare

Hanoverian Mare - Calysta

Calysta MWF is a beautiful, talented chestnut mare by Contucci o/o MS Karrena/ES Kalyso. She was born in 2007, and she is an elegant mover and loves to jump. She currently stands at 15.3 hands and may grow a bit more, but don't anticipate her being taller than 16 hands. She has nice, substantial bone, but does not move or jump 'heavy' at all.

Her grandsire, Kalypso, was a top earning Grand Prix jumping stallion, who really passed on to his foals, the incredible jumping scope and ability. Calysta MWF, aka Heidi, has definitely received the jumping ability and is a very balanced, careful jumper. She has 3 beautiful gaits that are very big and ground-covering, yet elegant.
Heidi was started under saddle in March, 2010 as a 3-year old. After being started, she continued working on flat work with a very confident rider and was even shown 2 times as a 3-year old. In the Fall, 2010, she was put 'out to pasture' for approximately 8 months to finish growing. In June, 2011, she was put back to work under the tutelage of the same confident rider, where they started jumping as well as flat work exercises. She successfully competed in jumper divisions as well as a BNH Horse Trial in 2011. She has automatic lead changes with unbelievable balance, scope and technique.

Heidi does not have any vices, is sound (and solid!), trailers well, is WONDERFUL at shows and settles in nicely at shows. She is easy to work around, stands nicely for farrier (great feet, too!!) and vet. She will show heat signs, but is no different under saddle when in heat. She needs a confident rider, at least initially, but with consistency and mileage, she will make just about any rider a great show partner.

Following is a list of her resume:

  • July, 2010 - USDFBC breed show at Georgia Int'l Horse Park, Conyers, GA - shown in 3-year old Materiale under saddle class, as well as in-hand.
  • August, 2010 - Ole South Dressage Show, Murfreesboro, TN - Shown Intro Tests A & B, walk-trot
  • July, 2011 - H J Fox Hunter/Jumper Classic, Georgia Int'l Horse Park, Conyers, GA - Champion, 2'3"-2'9" division (Sat), Reserve Champion, 2'3"-2'9" jumper division (Sun.)
  • August, 2011 - New Market, TN - 8th place (out of ~18 horses) with a 41.0 in BNH at River Glen Horse Trials. Double clean X-C at her FIRST X-C outing.

Zinderella is 4 year old bay Trakehner/TB mare. She stands 16 hands and is by the champion hunter Trakehner stallion Zealous out of a TB mare. Zealous was the Champion 4-yeear old in the International Hunter Futurity in 2003. In 2006 Zealous was Reserve Circuit Champion in the Green Conformation Hunter Division on the HITS Ocala circuit. Zinderella is elastic and athletic. She has fantastic gaits with swing and a great engine behind. When riding her you feel like you’re on a rubber ball. She has the calm, bold relaxed nature that her sire is known for throwing. She is doing basic dressage and is started over fences. She shows great form and is very relaxed and rhythmic.. Started on changes, she could excel in any discipline. This mare reminds David of Hawkwood’s Joyride aka Layla, his little black advanced mare from the 90’s, only with a much better trot and a much saner temperament. Zinderella has the same elasticity, balance and power to her canter. This is a seriously nice young horse. Asking $15,000. Brandywine Run has successfully competed at Beginner Novice level in eventing with a professional. He is a good and very engaged mover scoring a 32.9 in his dressage test at Chattahoochee Hills in Oct. Naturally round and up hill in his balance, he has an eye catching presence. He is very scopey and careful over jumps and could have a career in the jumper ring as well as being an eventer. If brought along properly this one will be a serious contender on the third day as he is going to leave the rails up. He is brave and schooled with water, ditches and banks. This one is smart and eager to learn. He always starts the day where you left off the day before. $18,000. Zealous was the 2003 4 year old Hunter Futurity Champion and the 2006 Reserve Champion Green Conformation Hunter on the HITS Ocala Circuit. Zo What is out of an Art Deco granddaughter.

Zo What is bred for the hunter ring and definitely has the temperament, movement and jump to be a champion, but his elasticity, trainability and athleticism would make him suitable for any discipline. This very quality young horse walks, trots, and canters under saddle, hacks out, and is started with his flying changes and over fences. The video clip linked here shows the end of his very first jump school under saddle. Zo is dead quiet which is a characteristic his sire is known for.
